Happy Halloween!

We celebrated Halloween on Saturday, tonight we're staying in and handing out candy. Originally, I had planned on being a peacock but then we got a snow storm and I really wanted to wear my boots to keep my feet dry and my legs warm (I'm getting practical in my old age, I guess). The boots just didn't go with the peacock costume so, I threw on a witch hat/headband and headed out the door. I'm kind of happy I did change my costume at the last minute because there were SO many peacocks this year! I don't know what it was, I thought I had a pretty different idea, but I guess not.

-Making a stupid face, had to block it out-
I didn't take any pictures this year and I'm so mad at myself. These are all pictures that I got from our friend's camera. My hat was my favorite part of my costume -how pretty is it?!

Party of 5!

Well on my way home yesterday I had to stop off and buy a snow shovel because we are supposed to get a snow storm today. Yea, before Halloween- a freakin snow storm. Ridiculous, right?! Anyway, I have been looking for months for Wet n' Wild's Fast Dry Party of Five polish and I finally found it! It's always sold out but this time I got the last bottle. I was so excited. I know, a little crazy, getting exctied about a $1.99 bottle of nail polish but I was. I also picked up a bottle of Wet n' Wild Wild Shine in Blazed because I love coral colors. I know, it's winter time (& it's snowing right now as I type this) but it's such a pretty color and it was like a dollar; so I hope it doesn't chip too easily.

In other news, I spent a few hours the other night making my Halloween costume and we're supposed to be going out tonight so I'm hoping this so-called storm ends up being just a few flurries. I took pictures of the construction of my costume that I'll post once I post the actual costume. So stay tuned....

Yesterday & Last Nights OOTD's

Yesterday, the husband and I did a little shopping and ran a few errands. We went to a local farm and got fresh chocolate milk, honey, cheese, and ice cream! The milk comes in glass bottles, just like the old days, it's so cool. It's getting pretty chilly here so I layered a black long sleeve shirt underneath for an extra layer. I just realized that I did all of that running around yesterday with the "Small" sticker stuck to my fleece, great. Don't you love when that happens?

By the time we got done with everything, it was dinner time so we went home and did a quick outfit change. We went out for dinner to this cute little restaurant on the lake for pizza and bruschetta. After dinner, we drove around and looked at all of the beautiful lake homes and all of the pretty fall foliage. Then we went out for a few drinks at a corner bar. I snapped this picture in a hurry and the stripes look really weird, but in person they are just tiny black stripes. You can see the top here (where it looks more normal). It's a small but it fits really big so I tucked it in and rolled the sleeves up and wore it slightly off my one shoulder.

Forever 21

I am loving the friendship bracelet craze that is coming back and this bracelet if just perfection for me.
Aren't the colors pretty?

I really regret not buying more of these belts. They had so many great colors to choose from but at $2.50 each I thought they would be really cheaply made and stiff. Well, I was so wrong about that because the quality isn't too bad at all; especially considering the price.
Then I got this striped sweater-like dress. I can't wait to pair it with black tights and heels for a night out.

That's all I ended up with, surprisingly. I really didn't see much that I liked and what I did like, didn't fit right/look right when I tried it on. I've been kind of disappointed with F21 lately, I think some of their styles are getting too extreme for my taste, or maybe I'm just getting old!

Just Like The Notebook

You have to read this (click here) story, it actually brought tears to my eyes. This adorable couple that has been married for 72 years passed away. Together. An hour apart. While holding hands. It reminded me of one of my favorite movies, The Notebook. Anyone else love that movie? I've probably watched it at least 8 times.

Italia Memories

I made a photobook of "Our Wedding Memories" and I had so much fun doing it that I decided to make one for our honeymoon/trip to Italy too. Here are just some of the pages of the book, there are more but I didn't want to bore you by posting an entire 2 week trips worth of pictures.

I got a little cheesy at the end with my captions but oh well, I'm a cheeseball. I seriously can't stop looking through these books, I love them. Or maybe I just miss Italy and all of the fun surrounding the wedding. Speaking of cheese, my husband and I noticed that we are getting low on the cheese (that we stocked up on in Italy) and it's so sad that we can't just go to the market to buy more. Everything in Italy tastes better and we are now forever spoiled. I can't wait to go back already!

OOTD NOTD & The Pumpkin Patch!

The husband and I had a nice, laid back day today. We went to our favorite pancake house for a huge brunch and then we went to a pumpkin patch! This is what I wore:
Sweater- Ross
White V Neck- Forever 21
Jeans- Charlotte Russe
Scarf- Strawberry's
Boots- Qupid
Nail Polish: Nina Ultra Pro Never Glum Plum mixed with some white polish for a custom creation. I got the idea because I saw an OPI polish (Parlez-Vous) that was discontinued and I have been looking for a color like it for a while now. I recently bought Never Glum Plum thinking it would be a good dupe but it is way too dark but adding the white made it perfection!

We got some goodies at the pumpkin patch! I got a candy apple and my husband got some chocolate peanut butter fudge. yummmm.
We also got 3 pumpkins to paint!
I painted one and we are going to paint the other 2 when we have time during the week.

I had so much fun painting. It was like I was a kid agian! Great stress reliever. Hmmm maybe I should start painting for a hobby...?

Now, next weekends project: figuring out our Halloween costumes and making them. We have a good idea on what we are doing but it's not set in stone, yet. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

I Finally Finished "Our Wedding Story"

After months of obsessing over what pictures to use, the layout of the album, and all of the other minor details our wedding album is finally completed. I opted to stress myself out design the album myself because I wanted it to be like our wedding, completely personalized and to my liking. I'm a bit OCD so putting such an important task in the hands of someone else, even a professional, just didn't sit well with me. In all actuality, I had a lot of fun creating the album, so much so that I made another one for our honeymoon photos. I think I may start making an album annually to organize all of the photos from that year and keep things in cronological order. I think the days of printing out individual photos is coming to an end, at least it is for me. I have so many photos saved on my hard drive that I have the intention of printing but I still haven't gotten around to actually having them printed. So, photobooks are my solution! I used Shutterfly to create our albums and I'm really happy with the results. The quality is great, the software is easy to use and all in all I'm really happy with everything.

I have not been compensated in any way for this post. I decided to use Shutterfly based on my own personal research and all of the thoughts and opinions posted here are purely my own. I used my own hard-earned money to purchase the photobooks.
