I'm a Mrs.!

Our wedding was in one word-perfect! It rained like crazy all week but a miracle happened and the sun was shining in full force and we had the most beautiful day of the year for our special day. I couldn't have asked for a better faitytale. It was everything I wanted and much, much more. Everything was decorated beautifully, everyone looked great (to say the least), the food was delicious, the music was energizing, and people were dancing and socializing all throughout the night. I don't have many pictures yet but our photographer posted this on her facebook last night and it has left us with anticipation to see more.

Here's a shot of us at the ceremony that one of our guests took:

As perfect as the day was, there were a few minor mishaps but it wasn't anything that we weren't able to brush off our shoulders and forget about that day. For example, we had to rush upstairs after the ceremony to cut the cake with our parents and bridal party because it was leaning like the Leaning Tower of Pisa! So we didn't get to do the traditional cake cutting in front of everyone but it was kind of nice to have just our nearest and dearest. Our flower order was wrong and the arbor decoration fell apart during the ceremony, our officiant took off with our marriage license after the ceremony and he was far from pleasant. But aside from all of that, it was more than perfect. We can laught at these little things now and years down the road from now.

What wedding day mishaps did you have that you can laugh about and/or cry about now?

Wedding Wednesday: Paying the Bills

Ahhh the fun part: writing the checks for all of our wedding vendors! I made all of the envelopes up today so they are all ready to go for the big day. Each envelope includes the final payment and a thank you note.

This is for our photographer who has been so incredibly helpful this throughout this whole planning period. Along with her payment and thank you note, we got her a pair of pearl earrings (classic!) as an additional thank you. It was too cute not to share with you.

Wedding Wednesday: Starting to Pack

I started to pack a bag of important things that I can't forget to bring with me the day of the wedding. Along with all of this stuff, I will have 3 more pairs of shoes! My Paris Hilton's, my white wedges (to dance in), and probably my blush heels (to wear with my party dress)- oh and these flip flops! There's plenty more to pack but this is what I have gathered so far:

Signs for the doors of our "Getting Ready Rooms"

My Garter & Clutch

We have these sparklers and super long ones for spelling out words and making hearts.

Our photographer is pretty excited to do these photos and so are we!

Wedding Wednesday: Hotel Bags & More!

Wow, I just realized as I was typing the title of this post that this will probably be one of the last Wedding Wednesday posts until after our wedding. We are getting married this Saturday!!!

I've been busy with little projects like our hotel bags for our guests. We had a bunch of invitations left over and I couldn't bring myself to throw them away so I made them into tags and attatched them to the bags. Super easy project.

Here's the completed bag:

We stuffed our bags with chips, pretzels, Gertrude Hawk chocolate bars, water bottles, and a welcome letter.

After taking inventory of all of our items that need to be packed away in the car and brought to the venue, I realized just how pink our wedding will be. I'm pretty fortunate that my fiancee let me go crazy with the pink girlyness. There's not a whole lot left to do except sit back and wait for Thursday to get here. Our rehearsal and dinner is on Thursday. Friday will bring a day of pampering and relaxation. My girls and I are getting our nails done, going tanning (one last time), going to see the movie Bridesmaids, and going out for dinner.

1 Week Away from the Wedding!

I've been terrible at blogging lately but I've been so consumed with wedding projects, beauty regimens, and working. I never really understood why people hired wedding planners until now. The last couple of weeks before the wedding are insane! I feel like an accountant after tallying the final guest counts, entree counts, formulating seating charts, maintaining budgets, etc. Those computer courses in college really paid off because this wedding has made me the queen of spreadsheets! As much as I say I wish I hired a wedding planner, I think I made the right choice not hiring one. I'm such a Type A and I don't know if theres anyone I could trust enough with such an important task. I would probably hire one and end up doing all of the work or at least double checking all of their work-- I'm crazy, I know.

The reality of it all is finally setting in and I can't believe we are just one week away from being husband and wife!

I'm going to try my best to get a few wedding-realted project posts up here before the wedding. So, stay tuned...
