Thank You!!!

I am so happy to announce that this little ol' blog of mine has reached 100 subscribers!
Thank you so much for all of your support and for all of your sweet comments.
I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Your comments brighten my day and I probably wouldn't be doing this without having received such great feedback. So, thank you!

I've been sick for the past couple of days and I haven't been on here much so seeing *100* was a nice feeling. I'm still not feeling my best but I hope to return to regular blogging by next week.

Wine Rack turned Gift Wrap Station

As some of you may remember, we recently spruced up our dining room and bought a new wine bar/buffet. I didn't want to throw away our old wine rack (sentimental reasons) so I finally came up with an excuse to keep it functional way to re-purpose it. My H brought the rack to the basement for the time being and set it down next to the table where I keep all of my wrapping paper and the idea was born- this would be my new wrapping station! I have a slight obsession with gift wrap, bows, ribbons, and things that make a present look nice so I have a lot of stuff that needs to be organized. The regualar sized rolls fit perfectly in the bottle slots but I have some super long rolls that were too long (they stuck out too far). I took some sturdy gift boxes and used them as drawers to hold my ribbons and bows (eventually, I will find plastic containers that will fit).

Container that sits on top of curling ribbon.
Another container that sits on top and holds things like tape, gifts tags, and gift boxes.

I have this box sitting on a table off to the side that holds larger gift boxes, gift bags, and tissue paper. On top of all of this, I have a plastic tote that is filled with Christmas bows, gift bags, tags, ribbons, and boxes. It's out of control, I know but I love wrapping presents, it's kind of therapeutic for me.

Do you like wrapping presents? How do you organize your supplies?

NOTD Reverse

This is basically the reverse of what I did last week. Last week was a deep plum with a black design. This week I picked up Pure Ice in the shade Kiss Me Here at Walmart. I was searching for a medium-light gray tone and thats what it looked like in the bottle, but when applied it looks like a lighter plum or deep lavender. I can't seem to find a gray nail polish that I like anywhere! Any suggestions?

Not Your Average Chick Flick

I finally had the chance to watch Bridesmaids last night! Originally, I had planned to watch it with my bridesmaids before our wedding in May but things got too chaotic and that didn't work out so I watched it with my husband. He was expecting a regular run of the mill chick flick but he was pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed it. It's definitely one of my new favorite movies. I could watch it 45675475474 more times without hesitation. There are so many hilarious moments mixed in with some real sentimental/touching moments. The movie is totally real and totally relatable (to most). Before I give any more info. away----- go out and see it!

OOTD -Finally Making Things Official

I had so many errands to run today so I made sure to wear something comfortable. Among my many errands was a visit to the S.S office to finally change my name. Coincidentally, today happens to be our 4 month anniversary too! It took me that long to go ahead and make the change, I know, but I've been dreading making the phone calls and faxing all of the papers over to change my name on everything. They seriously have to make the transition easier on us!

NOTD Never Glum Plum

Blurry, but you can see the purple undertones in the polish.

As easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. apply 2 coats of polish.
2. create the design on 2 nails on each hand. I used LA Colors Art Deco (black) to create the lines and then I added tiny dots to the end of each line.
3. draw on a black french tip to the tip of each nail without the design and apply your clear coat.

New Wedges!

brand: Bamboo --- style: Ceasar
I haven't stopped wearing them since I picked them up Saturday afternoon.
They are so comfortable and they add a good 5 inches to my height.
Yay for new shoes!

Fall Bucket List

autumn
So when I woke up this morning it was 39 degrees F! I miss my warm summer weather already. I have already switched out some of my clothes in my closet for warmer ones and I put away most of my summer sandals, wedges, and heels. It has officially hit me and I'm not liking it. The only thing that is keeping my spirits up is all of the fun activites that fall brings.
Like for instance, this weekend we are going to an Oktoberfest. I know, it's only September but I guess there are so many going on in our area that they have to space them out. I'm pretty excited to try some new beer, eat some bratwurst, and watch the weiner dog races.

In an effort to make this transition from summer to fall as pleasant as possible, I thought I would make myself a bucket list of all of the fun things that I can do now that it's fall.

10 Years Later...

Tumblr_lrd1o5acjm1qzuul6o1_500_large
It's hard to believe that it was 10 years ago to this day that America was under attack.
I remember sitting in history class in high school when the news broke. Our teacher turned the tv on and we watched in horror and disbelief as our country was changed forever. We will never forget the innocent people whose lives were claimed that day, the heroes that risked their own lives to help, and those who have fallen in the line of duty to protect our country.

Lauren Conrad's Collection

I've known about Lauren Conrad's collection at Kohl's for a while now but I haven't checked it out until recently. I am in love with these clothes. I feel like if I had a line, it would be a mix between LC's and the Kardashians. I love all of the feminine colors and details that LC's collection has to offer.
Bows, Florals, Light Colors, Clean Lines, Simple.

I have to be honest here- I'm not feeling the whole 60's/70's trend in fashion. I more of a simple clothes with femine details, dress it it up with accessories and a killer pair of heels kind of girl. I think I'm going to go a little crazy shopping in Kohl's (LC's collection) and Sears (Kardashian Kollection) as opposed to the usual F21 and Charlotte Russe.

How do you feel about the 60's/70's trend?

I am not affiliated in any way with Kohl's or Lauren Conrad and I have not been compensated by any source to feature this line. The thoughts and ideas expressed in this feature are purely my own.
