Weekend Update

It was a busy weekend but we had some relaxation in the mix as well. Mine and Aubrey's weekend started on Friday afternoon- we met up with my friend for some lunch and it was so nice out that we went for a walk. It was so nice to finally be outside for a stroller ride.

Later that night we went to grandma's for a pizza party!

On Saturday Mike and I took Aubrey to a local farmer's market where we picked up some fresh veggies and some baked goods. This was the first time that I ever had fresh garlic (except when we were in Italy) but it was so amazing. We picked up a baguette also so it only made sense to make some garlic bread to go along with the raviolis for dinner.

We also spent some time outside around the house on Saturday. We started making a stone pathway which is nowhere near finished but it's getting there.

We had a silly Sunday morning. Aubrey has been running around the house- literally. She went straight from walking to running! She is so in love with this elephant (that we named Ellie). She is so sweet to her- she snuggles her and kisses her and carries her around everywhere. She also has a Minnie Mouse that goes with us every time we leave the house.

Without any guidance she figured out what to do with the bracelets. She just may love accessories as much as her mother.

Oh you know, just taking the puppy for a walk...

We visited with Mike's parents on Sunday and my mother-in-law surprised me with a box of macaroons from Bouchon in NYC- Pistachio- my favorite!

We also hit Lowes and picked up a new kitchen faucet. We've been dying to replace the crappy builder grade faucet that came with the house so I'm pretty excited. Yes, things have changed- I'm getting excited over faucets these days. We also picked up some grass seed so that means one thing- spring is almost here! We have so much work to do outside since it's a blank slate with no landscaping at all. Wish us luck- I'm totally inept in the gardening and landscaping department!

Last but certainly not least, I leave you with this gem.
I'm one lucky girl.

How was your weekend? Are you feeling the springtime itch too?

Kardashian Kids Launch

Love them or hate them, the Kardashians' are great at marketing. Their new line for little girls (newborn - 24 months) launched online today and it will launch in stores tomorrow, March 15th. The line is so simple, trendy, and perfect for a little fashionista while being both comfy and affordable.

I'm lucky that this line came out when it did because Aubrey is starting to fit into 18-24 month clothes now.  Hopefully they will expand and offer more sizes. I was also a little surprised to see that the line is only for little girls- what about Mason? I thought his style would've been reflected in this line as well... Maybe it's in the works and this is a test to see how well the line sells but how can you resist these outfits?
star footie with tulle ruffles
Unfortunately, this only goes up to 9 months so Aubrey missed the boat on these footies.
2 piece gold foil polka dot outfit
I have a sweater (that I'm wearing right now, actually) that matches these leggings perfectly.
gold foil creeper with ruffled trim
mesh & tulle tiered skirt
Seriously dying over the cuteness of this skirt! I actually have one that is similar (minus the sequins) that I bought on our honeymoon in Italy.
Are you starting to see a trend here? Maybe that's why I love this collection so much... I can pretty much match mine and Aubrey's outfits now.
2 pack of leopard and gold star bibs

Check out the rest of the Kardashian Kids Kollection here.

What do you think of the line?

*I am in no way affiliated with the Kardashian brand nor was I compensated for this post. I am just excited about the line and loving the collection so I thought I'd share it with you*

Lately...

  •  I've been watching addicted to Orange is the New Black. I just finished it and I am dying for the next season to begin in June!
  • I've been chasing around this little one who is always getting into something. This is her cabinet in the kitchen- which is a cabinet filled with kitchen things she can play with and some random toys.
  • I've been snacking on mini marshmallows and Easter M&M's because I'm so healthy and mature.

  • I've been working on my new endeavor- Pretty Posh Shoppe pretty much every free moment that I have between work and playing with Aubrey.

  • I've been shopping for Aubrey's spring wardrobe! I planned on hitting Baby Gap and Target this weekend but I started early with a somewhat new store in our area- Peebles. I went in not expecting to find anything and came out with a bag full of clothes- so that was a nice surprise! Spring is still chilly here sprinkled with a few warm days here and there so I picked up a few lightweight long sleeve tops, a couple short sleeve tops, a skirt, and a pretty ruffled pair of shorts.

I usually tend to stray away from graphic print shirts but I couldn't resist these- they were just too cute to pass up. I want to find a pair of navy shorts to pair with the red and white striped top, I thought it would make for the perfect nautical outfit.

Are you thinking spring yet?

Big News!

I've been busy working on a little project---

I was so inspired by Aubrey's first birthday party that I decided to take my ribbons, bows, and glitter and take things to the next level. I've always enjoyed making things and working on crafty projects but now more so than ever. Having a little girl will do that to you I guess.

I started working on hair accessories for Aubrey when I was pregnant, I've created a lot of decor items for her play room recently (it's almost done and I can't wait to reveal it to you all soon), and I DIYed my little heart out with her first birthday party

This tiny glittery party hat is what really inspired me though. I had an idea in mind of what I wanted to do but I just went to the craft store, grabbed some supplies without giving it much thought and viola- I loved it and I hope that other little girls will love it too- so I opened and etsy store and that's where Pretty Posh Shoppe was born.

Right now Pretty Posh Shoppe is focusing on party hats but eventually I would like to add some hair accessories and some room decor items as well. So check out the shoppe here and stay tuned for more Pretty Posh pretties to come!

Date Night

A miracle happened. For the first time since Aubrey was born (13 months ago), my husband and I went on a date. Up until this point we really haven't left her side, usually at least one of us is with her. She was even at our closing! We've left her with her grandparents a few times, one was on moving day for a few hours, another was when I had a few errands to run, and she is left with her grandma or great grandma when I work during the week but other than that... my husband and I really haven't left her side so this was long overdue.

My mom came over to babysit for us while we snuck out for a nice dinner date. We weren't sure where to go so we kind of winged it and just drove around until we found a place that appealed to us. I wasn't sure of what kind of a place we would end up at so deciding what to wear was tricky. I've been dying to wear this skirt so originally I was going to go with this outfit...
Skirt- Express
Top- Old Navy
Heels- Rampage
Necklace- Body Central
...but then I decided to go with something a little more casual so we had more flexibility in choosing a restaurant.
Jeans- J.Crew
Sweater- Old Navy
Wedges-
Necklace- Target

Add caption

Lipstick- NYX Thalia

In celebration of our night out my sweet husband surprised me and had flowers delivered to our house before we left. I'm a lucky girl, what can I say?

Spring Shopping

We were threatened with the possibility of another snowstorm this weekend but luckily is missed us so in celebration I went shopping. Well... not really but it sounded good. When I was out and about this weekend I picked up a few things for spring and I can't wait to wear them when it warms up. Walking into J.Crew was like a breath of fresh spring air- all of the bright colors, all of the pretty mints, crisp whites... it seriously boosted my spirits even though I was bundled up wearing a pea coat, scarf, and boots.
All bundled up with temps in the 20's, I did what any sensible person would do- I tried on a bunch of shorts that I'd been eying online.
JCrew Striped Shirt -- JCrew Mint Top -- JCrew Striped Shorts -- Kohls Blush Top

Here I'll leave you with some lovely fitting room pics of my pasty white legs that need a tan and some toning all in the name of showing you these amazing shorts that I picked up. So please excuse the socks and mismatched outfits...
I love these shorts. The material is a thicker pleated cotton and they feel so rich. I think I need a yacht to wear these on. They are high waisted and the pleats totally did it for me. These can easily be dressed up or down so they're so versatile.

I really wanted to love those seersucker shorts but when I put them on they just didn't  feel right...

...finally, the mint shorts. I originally thought I was going to walk out with just these but then I saw this mint top and I remembered all of the mint clothing that I've been accumulating and decided against them.

I picked up these lobster lights at the Christmas Tree Shop for our little lobster.  In case you haven't ready our monthly milestones updates, Aubrey's nickname is Lobster. It's hard to find things with lobsters on them, usually you see crabs more often so when I saw these lights I was so excited. I had no idea where we were going to put them but I knew that they were coming home with us. Turns out, they found a home in her play room and fit perfectly around her alphabet canvas. She loves lights so she is thrilled with the new addition.

Have you started shopping for spring yet?
How excited are you about the spring line at J.Crew?

Here are a few other things that I have sitting in my shopping cart:
Nautical Button Shorts -- Polka Dot Chambray -- Pink Stripe Top
Scalloped Shift Dress -- Scalloped Ballet Flats

*This post is not sponsored by J.Crew. I'm just really loving their spring line and decided to share my favorites with you along with my thoughts and opinions that are purely my own.
