Cake Samples, Decor & more Gifts!

I haven't missed a Wedding Wednesday post in a while but this week has been pretty chaotic so here it is... better late than never, right?

Over the weekend, Sunday to be exact, my mom, future mother in law, and I went to a bridal show at our venue and we had a great time. I got to show them our venue, we tasted some cake, got some ideas AND I won a $100 gift card to the Bon Ton!

I picked up these samples at the bakery today for us to taste after dinner tonight. I can't wait to try them!!
Top row (right to left): chocolate, strawberry, red velvet, strawberry amaretto
Bottow row (right to left): vanilla, orange supreme, carrot w/ cream cheese icing, chocolate chambord

Then I went to Michaels and I completely lucked out! I found a bunch of great things that I can use for the wedding and they were all on clearance!

20 Pink Daisy Kissing Balls
Original Price: $4.99 Sale Price: 49 cents
These will be perfect for the chairs on the outside of the aisle for our ceremony.
3 Wrought Iron Candle Holders
Original Price: $14.99 Sale Price: $1.49
I'm painting these ivory and using them for decoration.
They will work beautifully with my shabby chic, vintage, bird theme.
15 Chalkboard Toggles
Original Price: $1.99 Sale Price: 19 cents
I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing with these yet...
maybe putting them on the backs of the chairs to reserve seating.
Either way, they will be put to use, whether in my home or at the wedding.

We've been engaged for a little over 6 months already and we are still getting engagement presents! I can't believe how fast time is flying.
Here are some more of our gifts:
Lenox Jubilee Ring Holder
I also have the matching dessert serving set and toasting flutes.

Damask Vienna Tablecloth, matching napkins and napkin rings

  1. Oh, you found some awesome deals. Great job!
I had a hard time deciding on cake flavors so I went with three different onces (french vanilla, chocolate and don't remember the third one for some reason)

  7. @Lilly: That's a brilliant idea! @Jenna: This is the one step in the planning process that my fiane is into way more than anything else, for sure.
@Jessica: We are strongly leaning toward the red velvet but vanilla with a filling is a possibility too. I thought I was going to love the amaretto and chambord but I actaully liked them the least.
