...Till You Drop

I told you I would update you on my little shopping trip from last weekend and so here are the goods:
Aldo
The color is a bit washed out here, it looks more like the first photo.
I really need to play around with my camera and figure out how to use it already... and I better do so before my vacations! DSLRs are so confusing, does anyone have any helpful tips or sites they can share?

H&M Sweaters
Beware- they run really big and they're super long too! I bought both in an XS and they are still big on me, and I still have plenty of room for my growing belly. They're really comfortable though and I can see myself wearing them pretty often with leggings.

H&M Basics -Tank Top & Tube Tops
The tank top is super long and the tubes tops are pretty long too. I'm going to use the tube tops to extend my shirts as my baby bump grows in lieu of a belly band. They belly band I tried on was uncomfortable and it was very elastic so it didn't really look like a shirt, it looked more like spanx- not a good look to show off.

Liz Lange Ruched Maternity Tops
Just a few more basics to add to my growing black and white maternity collection. Don't worry I plan on accessorizing a lot.

Merona Babydoll Maternity Top
This is a size small, believe it or not. It's gigantic on me and while I know I don't have much of a bump yet, I'm not quite sure if it will ever fit me. What do you think should I return it or keep it because I'm just kidding myself?
I really don't plan on buying too many maternity clothes because 1.) I really don't want to waste the money if I don't need to and 2.) There aren't a ton of cute options out there. Two things that are definitely on the list to buy next are a good pair of maternity jeans and a winter coat since I'll be huge during the coldest months of the year.

For all of you moms out there- did you wear a lot of your own clothes throughout your pregnancy or did you rely on a maternity wardrobe? If you have any suggestions for me, please feel free to share your preggo style secrets... I'm all ears!

  1. I love all of your new clothes! Especially those sweaters from H&M! I agree with you on not buying a ton of maternity clothes I hate to spend the money when essentially I only have a few more months left! For me it's all about comfort! I have bought some tops tanks/short sleeves from Target they are around $8-$10 and are super stretchy! I can probably fit into them again after baby too!

  3. I think you're doing great with your maternity wardrobe. I had sold all my maternity items after Parker (thinking we were done) then tried to work with what I had since we knew w/o a doubt Beckham was our last. I bought float tops that I knew I could wear post pregnancy and wore a lot of leggings/tunics. The tube tops as belly bands is smart!

  4. I had to buy maternity pants because I popped out immediately. I wore a lot of solid tanks with a cute cardigan and necklace. I did the cardigan route because I would be able to wear after the baby made his appearance (no lie I still wear them and the baby is 18 months)!

  5. Love your purchases - especially the aldo bag and H&M sweaters - am totally going to look out for that pink one!

I think you're doing a great job buying clothes that are not *just* maternity but that you can wear after as well.

If I had any advice - it would be to plan ahead and keep some cute but stretchy outfits for after delivery....for me it was such a strange time because I was exhausted...didn't need to wear maternity clothes, but also didn't really fit into pre-pregnancy clothes - and I was obviously too busy to buy clothes then! If I had put together some no-brainer outfits (like cute tops and pants...not my tired early maternity clothing) I think I would have felt a lot better - it may sound trivial - but I always feel happier when I'm put together.

Sorry for the novel LOL - it's just one of the few things I wish I could have told my preggers self :-)

I don't usually like leaving links to my blog on comments - but all my other pregnancy advice is condensed in this post if you're interested!

  7. That top may seem big now but your belly will definitely grow so I would keep it. I bought stuff and thought there was no way I would wear it because they were so big but I ended up using everything!

  8. Actually I was JUST talking to one of my pregnant friends the other day about maternity clothes and she feels the same way as you. Although, she did rave about maternity jeans and told me that normal people should wear them too, haha.

  12. I absolutely love your new sweaters from H&M. So cute. I know a lot of my friends were able to wear a lot of their own clothes they had for a while. When absolutely necessary they purchased a few maternity tops, but a lot of them wore dresses and they looked so adorable. :) I know you're going to look so pretty in all your maternity wear, i can't wait to see how you pair everything. :)

  13. Love seeing purchases - I didn't wear any maternity clothes except for a pair of nice maternity denim. I made my clothes work and did a lot of blazers and jackets. Do what feels good and makes you feel nice :)
