So many of my readers have been long-time readers and so I thought it would be appropriate to share a glimpse of my "real life" with you. I know that I like to get to know the writers behind the blogs that I adore so here it goes, things are about to get real personal here...
It's recently dawned on me that a lot about life as I once knew it is changing, it's changing fast and these little life events have probably brought me to this realization:
1.) Planning my husband's 30th birthday party -that's right husband, I have a husband and we've been together for almost 9 years- where did that time go??
2.) We recently started looking into buying a home of our own.
3.) ...a home where we will raise our child, possibly children one day.
4.) I have a baby growing inside of me. Which by the way, is the coolest experience ever. I say that now that I'm in my 2nd trimester and over the always tired, constantly queasy feeling, and so on.
5.) My pink laptop that I used in college is starting to die. I have so many great memories of typing up papers on this baby while sitting in the lounge at Penn State. Granted, I got it in my Junior year and I graduated in 2009 so I understand it's long overdue. This is also the laptop that I used to create my very first blog post for this little blog of mine. So the thought of having to replace it soon, uggg the dreaded "r" word makes me sad. I love this laptop and I'm nostalgic, so what?
I'm leaning towards a Mac. Either the Mac mini or the iMac to be exact. Yes, I'm crossing over to the other side. Does anyone have a Mac? If so, which one and do you love it?
6.) My car is a two-door sporty coupe. I bought her almost 4 years ago during my last semester of college and I love my car. It was my first "big girl" purchase that I got all on my own (well besides furniture). BUT two-door coupe and baby just don't mix. So, here comes the next bout of nostalgia, not wanting to let go, etc., etc. Is a new car in my future? Maybe. I can tell you what isn't in my future, and that's a mini-van or station wagon. I simply can't do it. I've got to find some sort of compromise and whatever I get needs to have a sunroof.
If you've made it this far, congrats and thanks for reading!
I hope I didn't bore any of you too much.
I remember when I had to plan for my husband's 30th birthday and that was almost 2 years ago. I was so stressed out lol Good luck! :) And I "totally" understand what you mean by everything changing... I guess it's called growing up :) It's scarey but at the same time exciting :)
ReplyDeleteBtw congrats, didn't know you were prego ;)

I know exactly how you feel. All of a sudden there's a ton of baby announcements on facebook and I realize that my husband will be turning 30 in December. Where does the time go... :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post! :) I don't have a Mac, I'm still posting with my pink laptop as well, Sony Vaio. I've played around with Mac's a little bit, but my next computer will still be a Sony Vaio. I can't help it, it's what I'm use to.
ReplyDeleteI also have a two door coupe, I know once I graduate I'd like to get a Ford Escape. I love those cars.
I really wish you all the best in everything you do!! :)
Thank you for sharing this! I always love getting to know a little more about the fabulous girls I follow :)

I loved this post! You're on your 2nd trimester already? Man, time is flying. I ALSO have a 2 door sporty coupe that was ALSO my first big girl purchase. And I know I will have to let it go eventually as well. I ALSO refuse to drive a mini van and will only get a car with a sun roof. You can look into a nice, sleek SUV. :)

I'm jealous of your mac computer I can't talk hubbs into changing to the other side even though I am OBSESSED with my iphone! I drive a C230 MB right now and the thought of a mom car is killing me! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for sticking to your guns on the no minivan issue. I've got three and still promise not to succumb to a big van! Haha

It's amazing how quickly (and not so quickly) life changes. I had many of the same thoughts not so long ago :) It's all crazy, fun, exciting, scary, great things! I'm so thrilled for you!

Sounds like you're at a really great point of your life where you're just about to start on an exciting new chapter. Seeing that list kinda scares me a bit though because I'm still in denial that I'm "growing up". Haha

I often think of this too! Most of my friends are having babies on purpose!! Also I got rid of my two door and I don't even have kids yet and I'm not pregnant yet! Hopefully I'll be pregnant soon! We are also one of thsoe couples that want a baby on purpose too!!! Time sure flies!! It's beautiful because of how wonderful life is, but it's also sad to think how fast it goes!!! :( Let's just try to live in the moment?? And not freak ourselves out? Lol :)
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you are feeling better in your 2nd trimester!!
